In January of 2005, the Dakins took their first mission trip to Honduras. During their trip, they felt God’s call for them to dedicate their lives to serving the people of Honduras. Ten years later, the Dakins are full-time missionaries in the mountainous regions of Honduras. Together, with their adopted Honduran son, Ever, and his wife, Gladis, they are still pursuing the will of God in Honduras!
From their home base of Hopkins County, they know our hometown folks are making a way for the poor to be fed, clothed, and trained in Honduras. The ministry also has a physician and dentists on staff that give free medical and dental care to those who would not have it otherwise. Today, AMOR’s outreaches include programs such as school feedings and sponsorships for mountain children, discipleship classes, and community renovation projects. AMOR also works to provide basic training and resources for those families affected by extreme poverty and poor living conditions.
All of us at Bluegrass Pharmacy appreciate the time, effort and sacrifices of the Dakins.
